Designer – Interior Design
The Wiseman Group is looking to hire a mid-level Interior Designer with experience in high-end residential design. Our ideal candidate is an extremely organized, detailed-oriented, pro-active individual who can work independently, but also enjoys working within a team in a collaborative environment. This Designer will report daily to the team Senior Designer, regularly interact with the Design Director, and be responsible for assisting with all aspects of various projects from concept phase through to installation.
Responsibilities
Manage multiple project deliverables simultaneously
Interface with co-workers, clients, vendors, architects and contractors as needed to manage communication flow and project objectives
Review project plans and understand project scope, completion schedules and other related documents
Work with team to develop design concepts, create drawings and specifications as needed for presentations and furnishings development
Coordinate client, vendor and internal design meetings
Assist with development and management of budgets and timeline schedules appropriate to project scope
Research and source materials, fixtures and furnishings
Track project activities by maintaining and updating project files including budgets, schedules, proposals, purchase orders and all other project materials in an organized, accurate and accessible manner
Prioritize workflow to meet project timelines
Prepare and manage proposals/purchase orders through purchasing, expediting, receiving, inspection and installation
Manage order status list
Work with team and vendors to coordinate deliveries, storage and orchestrate installations
Take personal responsibility for resolving project problems in a timely and effective manner when appropriate
Criteria for Selection
Relevant interest and experience, preferably 4 years prior work at a design firm
Relevant education, preferably a degree in design or related studies
Acceptable schedule and availability: full time
Proficient with AutoCAD, Photoshop, InDesign, SketchUp
Competency in Word, Excel, Outlook, Design Manager or comparable software
Ability to read architectural and furniture plans
Ability to understand project scope and to prioritize multiple projects tasks accordingly
Ability to drive and use of personal car preferred
Knowledge of showrooms and design resources
Excellent communication skills
