Sadie Darsie bio
SADIE DARSIE - Associate Design Director
A sixth-generation Californian from a small agricultural town, Sadie Darsie brings harmonious balance to the high design of TWG. Her instincts were chic from the start, and she followed after-school art classes and high-school drafting courses with an interior design degree from Arizona State University and a formative summer abroad where, in France, Spain, and the Netherlands, she developed a deep appreciation for masters of the field, including modernists Lilly Reich and Mies van der Rohe.
A practitioner of “true California living” design principles, Sadie’s personal aesthetic is “clean, leaning towards contemporary and modern forms” and she is both adept and obsessed with mixing old and new. Along with designs that include a residence by Frank Gehry—“To have studied his work in school, then have the opportunity to work within his architecture, will always be a highlight of my career,” says Sadie—a 30,000-square-foot private equity firm in San Francisco; a vast contemporary mountain home in Tahoe with architects Bohlin Cywinski Jackson; and a historic renovation of a residence originally designed by Joseph Esherick with Richard Beard Architects, her work has appeared in the pages CA Home & Design, Interior Design, Aspire Design and Home, Luxe, and California Homes.
In not following trends but listening faithfully to clients, Sadie designs to the beat of her own intuitive drum, seeking inspiration in nature, fresh perspective in travel, and beauty in the details. “To me, good design is about finding balance, no matter the style. It’s an endless pursuit.”
