AWARDS AND DISTINCTIONS: VERANDA BOOK FEATURES PAUL WISEMAN'S "HILLSIDE HAVEN"

VERANDA recently published a lifestyle book entitled The Art of Outdoor Living, by Lisa Newsom. It was an honor for Paul Vincent Wiseman's Belvedere garden to be selected for inclusion among the hundreds that have graced the magazine's pages. As editor-in-chief Dara Caponigro comments, the properties represent "some of the most beautiful spaces from our last 26 years."

The selection of Paul's garden for the VERANDA book is a nice acknowledgement of Paul's wide range of talents. Though he would never hold himself out as a landscape designer, his capabilities clearly extend beyond interior décor. Congratulations, Paul!

IN THE NEWS: PAUL WISEMAN'S BELVEDERE HOME FEATURED IN VERANDA

Paul's Belvedere Island home has been getting a lot of press this past year. (See "Journal: A Day With Paul Wiseman" and "Beautiful Belvedere.") A recent VERANDA article (May-June 2013) is especially noteworthy, however, as the interior design magazine is one of the top shelter magazines in the country. Adding to the honor, the text of the article was written by journalist Wendy Moonan, writer of the antiques column for the New York Times for fourteen years.

All the attention is well-deserved since Paul's home is a wonderful reflection of the best of California living. As Dara Caponigro, Editor-in-Chief at VERANDA, writes, "We've always had an appreciation for interior spaces that blend seamlessly with leafy gardens, patios, and porches -- it's inherent in our name and part of our DNA."

IN THE NEWS: DAY THREE OF THE VERANDA PHOTO SHOOT

Working their way through the house and garden, the VERANDA team has reached the lower edge of Paul's hillside property on Belvedere Island. The charming, asymmetrical gate marks the original entrance to the historic home, which was built in 1912. Due to the island's rural nature, the team has to remove deer fencing to get an unobstructed shot of a large ceramic vessel above.
